Nash Point, Monknash, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales

For the first proper shoot of the year I drove over to Nash Point in Wales last week. Nash Point is found on the Heritage Monknash coastline near Marcross/Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan and is considered to be one of the “must do” places in landscape photography in the UK. I certainly could have done with a map reader as I got lost several times trying to find it on the multitude of B roads in the area… must get a satnav I think!

The forecast was for clear skies at sunset and a receding high”ish” tide – just what I wanted. Unfortunately (or not in hindsight!) the sunset disappeared behind some heavy rain clouds so I was left to make the most of some driving wind and rainy conditions. All in all, the four hour trip was worth it and I hope you like the set of images that are now in the relevant landscape/sunset galleries and for a time will be in the “recent additions”. I’ll almost certainly return here in more favourable conditions to try and nail a golden sunset on those famous cliffs!

For further information about Nash Point, have a look at their visitor centre information website.

Images from the day can be found in the portfolio or in the shop.
